  • This book inspired me to become a writer. It's a biography of Hunter S. Thompson that told entirely by the letters he sent to people and the responses he got. So it's like reading his private mail and conversations. A great book if you are interested in how he became a famous journalist.

  • I was sold when Hunter Thompson stated that he had beef with the FBI and how he'd been knocked out by Mohamed Ali at a young age in Kentucky. His encounter with Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas is a telling event. And Hunter, even thinking of runnig for local office is outrageous. This is one of the fastest books I've ever read, it is that entertaining.
