Actually it did say. The sorting hat was put on Neville and set on fire by Voldemort and when the full body bind broke he pulled the sword from the hat.

The same exact way that Harry got the sword to destroy the Basilisk.

he did get the sword, i was impressed that Clumsy, not-really-good-at-anything-besides-herbology- Neville Longbottom actually Got the sword to kill one of the last horcruxes, i think she felt sorry for him. Poor kid only got himself in rather odd predicamets.

Paz, I have to disagree. I think Neville is one of the bravest characters int he books. Okay so in the beginning we just see him as this comic relif, but as time passes and we find out what happens to his parents.. as he works his butt off in Dumbledore's Army and fights with all he has in the Ministry of Magic... from that point on, I see Neville as a complete badass.

I completely agree!!! I think Neville had to really prove himself in the books because he was so........under-average.....To do that you need ALOT of bravery. And look where he is now! He stood up to the Carrows many a time, was tourtured and still kept the happy-go-lucky attitude he always had. He also needed to prove to himself that he wasn't just a waste of space. Remember he told Harry that his grandmother would have been happy to have Harry as her grandson. He needed to prove to himself that he was as good as the legend Harry Potter.

0I know that much, he did have to prove himself, he worked hard to be where he is, plus he could have been the legend himself. what I'm saying is, Neville in a way became more important tat Ron or Hermione. not for popularity, more for how he acted throughout the books. he shows progress, but he was never my favorite character so i would have liked someone else to have killed Nagiri

Pavi, speaking FOR him. And by badass, I mean he got really tough. A force to be reckoned with, especially in hisfinal year.

I really get your opinion. Makes sense, but personally I am REALLY glad that Neville got to kill a horcrux and do smoething important. I think he has almost as much of a reason to carry out this battle as Harry does.Voldemort took his parents, too (by extension of Bellatrix). Neville lost friends to Voldemort, just like Harry did and he became just as brave as Harry in the end.

If I was at Hogwarts, I would definitely crushed on Neville ;P

HA HA HA... that was a really nice comment Rosalinda... Especially when you said that if you were at hogwarts you would definitely get a crush on Neville... that part was really nice. an yeah I too agree with you lol... although neville has been shown as a quite weak character, after the fifth part he worked really hard against the Dark Side. and yeah I am also really glad that he destroyed a horcrux, but the sad part is that Crab also destroyed one of the horcruxes....

      :-(
