Aahhh...if only I had a boyfriend who made all my decisions for me - like which friends I was and was not allowed to hang out with (even taking apart my truck when I decided to go visit said forbidden friends), what college I was going to attend (he even filled out the applications for me and forged my handwriting! Except for, you know, a different boyfriend.
Unfortunately, I get to spend the first half of Eclipse with the return of overbearing, controlling Edward, doing everything in his power to keep Bella "safe". Bella, of course, is angry with Edward, but that doesn't stop her from gushing and gushing (again) about how flawless, godlike, unbearably beautiful, or *insert repetitive and overused adjective here* Edward is (Unfortunately, this continues for the entire book, even when Edward stops being so infuriatingly controlling). We've read the last two books. We get it.
Jacob, belligerent and annoying as he is throughout most of this book, gets it right when he says that it is better to be honest with Bella than to try and over-shelter her. That's about the only thing he gets right. Ever since he became a werewolf, everything about him seems to radiate violence.
The rest of the book, even throughout the "plot heavy" section, is full pages and pages of overdone, drawn out, overly sappy dialogue about how much one character loves another character, etc., etc. It's gets incredibly repetitive and annoying and serves mainly to break up the pacing just as it begins to move.
