A very interesting and impacting book, as it looked at fighting world poverty (an issue important to me) from a purely logical point of view. I have always known that the simple fact that I have more than one pair of shoes and that I eat three meals a day puts me among the rich on a world-scale. However, this book gives lots more facts and figures to show how much we really have, challenges us to consider living with less, and how to give productively.
For me personally, it challenged me to consider how much of our giving (10% of our gross income) actually goes to fight world poverty.
For me in ministry with a non-profit that works to alleviate the negative effects of poverty in a small, rural, village in a developing country, it gave an interesting perspective on why and how people give that I can apply to our communications.
Overall, I would love to see this book read and its principles applied across even just our country - it would make a huge difference in the lives of millions of people! (show less)
