  • This is the bible that introduces you to design in the context of social systems. Béla shows that the act of design, a continuous creation of a social system, should not be done by experts but by the people in the system, served and affected by it, its stakeholders. That makes peace between design and collaboration, between decision-oriented inquiry and social participation. Read Churchman, Checkland, Ackoff, but make sure you come back to this.
