  • The Tales of Beedle the Bard

Anybody else hoping and praying that these will be available to the public? So far J.K Rowlinghas only created seven copies and sold them or given them to the highest bidders and most important people. Amazon.com has a copy of the book and hopefully can get the rights to make these stories available to the public. Cross your fingers.

I want one!!! I really hope that there are plenty of little side books. I loved the two schoolbooks that were released several years ago, and I would like to see more of them!

She already made the creatures and quidditch books, it would probably be a third book like that.

there are seven hand-written, hand-drawn by rowling copies of the tales of the beedle bard . . . of course these aren't exactly within the average price range . . . amazon.com bought a copy for a million and some odd pounds

      http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=gw_cto_rarebook?ie=UTF8&docId=1000179911&pf_rd_p=343120901&pf_rd_s=left-nav-2&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_i=507846&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1JGGBMW9BKE6RE3X5G6B

as to when the rest of us can get a competitively-priced version, i have no idea

I would love to get a copy. I'm hoping she releases even more school textbooks and things like that, because I'd love to collect them all as part of the HP legacy I'm hoping to pass on to my kids someday. More "extra" books make for an even more engrossing world.

I highly doubt these will ever become available to the public, and if they do it will be against JKR's will. She wrote six to thank her friends & relations for supporting her and one for charity - if more were written this would take away the value from these, even if they are not handwritten. I'm pretty sure it's just something we will have to do without - besides, the fairytales are full of secrets not to be discovered!

I hope so too. It helps to create a sense of reality to the story when there are all these little bits that go along with it - kind of like all the side pieces of Tolkien's work.

I certainly agree, she made those copies special, not like the rest of the Harry Potter work, but I still hope to be able to read it, even if it is almost impossible.

I saw the website where it shows pictures of the auction, in the authors note of the book she says she will only make 7 and they are all hand written. I thin she likes the idea of an old book being passed for generations, and the value of it and all that. But you can read the stories on the website.
